Should we stop giving crisps & chips to young children?

should we stop and why??
Answer:
They should be treated as the occasional treat %26 not as a meal - which is what you all too often see. Young children need to be educated by their parents about most things in life %26 diet is one of those things. There's nothing worst than seeing a tot with a bag of crisps %26 a can of diet coke! Who has been responsible for that? Not saying it should be carrot sticks all the way but the seeds of good diet need to be established before you start adding what is essentially junk.
If you dont want them to grow up overweight and eventually obese, then dont give it to them all the time.Children can have these things - it should just be given in moderation. x
Only the technologically altered ones. Those are the worst.Sincerely,
GK
A little of what is bad for you, is good in moderation.
Imagine if everything in life was carrot batons and rabbit salads.
lil bit is alright but not too much that they go addicted to this stuff. addiction can lead them to go overweight
I don't see any harm in giving them as an occassional treat, but we shouldn't be feeding the little darlings bag after bag if that's what you mean.
I dont believe they should be stopped but given sparingly, they arent a source of nutrition and arent good for us.
Given in moderation is ok in my opinion. You could also team up the chips with fish and veg rather than other junk...
Ensure your child knows they are a treat, if you start young they will not know any different, and will learn to enjoy fruit and veg.
i give my kids crisps and chips.oven chips are better then fried and crisps are ok in moderation.as long as they have plenty of fruite n veg they should ok with them.
Not stop but apply strict limits. The high fat and sugar content contribute to obesity and potentially Attention Deficit Disorder.
lots of youngsters like eating crap, like crisps and chips, but you can't stop them completely.
maybe we should introduce healthier options to them like fruit and veg, today it seems like a chore to eat fruit but it's wrong.
maybe if more young children had healthier diets, they would'nt be so badly behaved and they may grow up 2 be much nicer adults?!
No, we shouldn't stop giving them to kids - just make sure kids recognise that these things are tnot he staples of a healthy diet. If all you eat is crisps and such like, that's bad (obviously) but having them sometimes as part of a healthy diet that doesn't cut out any food groups (except where allergic) is best. Education about food and nutrition is the key
not removal of the so-called "bad" foods as, once they're forbidden, you crave them even more.
no i don't think we should stop giving our children chips and crisps, kids need fat and sugar in their diet as well as goodness and i think we are sometimes under pressure to forget this i think as long as it's not too often its fine, we have to be careful what we listen to because if not we wouldn't eat anything
